This past week I knitted this blanket using 'man colors' for my uncle. It took me about 4 days pretty much non-stop, thanks to lots of idle time just being in the living room with my family for Thanksgiving.
PATTERN:
You knit this blanket diagonally
-Cast on 5 stitches. Knit 1 row.
-Next row Knit 3, yarn over, knit till end of row
-I continued this every row untill I ran out of yarn on my second ball of yarn. I have no idea how many stiches were on there...probably close to 150 or something.
-Decrease now: Knit 2, k 2 togeather, yo, k2tog, k to end of row
-Do that for every row till you get to 7 sitches on your needle. Then you Knit 2, k2tog, k2tog, k to end of row.
-Cast off.
For what it's worth - It would be easier for me to give advanced critique if I could see a close up of your afghan. Generally I look for evenness of stitches, uniformity in row height, etc. But, from what I see, the afghan looks great.
i know why it's called OF DOOM... i made one following your pattern, only on size 7 needles. took me forever! i started it about a year ago, left it about 1/3 done, found it last week, knitted nonstop for 5 days, and wow. i ended up with blister/calluses on my fingers and they itch a lot haha. but it was a fun project.
This pattern is pretty much like one I found on LionBrand.com, but I changed it a bit. I should of linked to it since it wasn't totally my idea, but whatever. I'm happy I could inspire you and happy you finished your blanket.

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it. Each day we will feature 10 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
